LITEFOOT FLEXARROW® SNEAKER

 

In early 2010, Litefoot became the first Native American actor or musician to develop and produce his own branded line of sneakers aptly named the Litefoot “FlexArrow”. While the shoe is designed for everyone, its also been designed for people with diabetes in mind.

Litefoot is still in the developmental process of creating his line of Aboriginal Footwear® and anticipates production of the shoe to begin by mid 2012. Litefoot began working on the design concept for the Litefoot “FlexArrow®” sneaker in the middle of 2010 and has created a sneaker with inspirational Native design elements that look great but feel even better!

“The reason I designed the arrows on the shoe is because I felt that this shoe should serve as inspiration; it should serve as momentum and forward progress,” Litefoot said. “The reason the arrow is pointing up on the back of the shoe is because I want people to really get that upward feel and inspirational feeling. The whole thought of rising and elevating and never thinking that there are boundaries for Native people. I really wanted that to be the inspiration behind the shoe.”

Regarding the usage of the shoe by Diabetic patients Litefoot said, “A lot of orthopedic shoes are not the coolest looking shoes, and some of the young people who should be wearing those shoes don’t because it’s not a cool shoe,” He went on to say. “I think this shoe will give them the opportunity to wear something that’s really cool and that they won’t be embarrassed of, and it also speaks to their Native American heritage.”

“I like to think that I’ve always been successful in those things that I put my mind to in Indian Country,” Litefoot said. “I’ve definitely put my mind to this, and it’s going to be not only something that’s cool and hot for people to wear in Indian Country and be proud of, but it’s going to serve our diabetic patients.”

The Litefoot FlexArrow® sneaker has received dozens of individual and more than 300 tribal nation pre-orders.

DESCRIPTION

The FlexArrow® sneakers are the first in a line of abORIGINAL FOOTwear® created by Native American actor and musician Litefoot. The Litefoot FlexArrow® design was created & inspired by iconic Native American elements and color palettes seamlessly merged together with contemporary stylings and superb handmade craftsmanship. Each pair of the Litefoot FlexArrow® sneakers are made out of leather uppers and red Leather arrows accenting the back and sides of the shoe. It is additionally complimented with a Litefoot lace jewel and a stitched Litefoot embossed logo near the heel of each shoe. Each pair of the FlexArrow’s features Litefoot’s signature placed on the arrow at the back of the shoe.

The FlexArrow® features “ThrustRock” technology which maximizes the comfort of the FlexArrow® sneaker by integrating a slight curvature into into the sole design of the shoe. The “FlexArrow” sneaker features a fully designed sole. A stylized Medicine Wheel and Feathers are placed in the heel to cushion heel strike. A Cross symbol representative of the sun and accented by radiating patterns is filled with shock absorbing gel and implemented into the forward sole design maximizing the comfort of the Litefoot FlexArrow®.

The FlexArrow’s are available in creme and tan with red accents and a black, red and aqua sole (Earth), in all black with red accents and a black, red and aqua sole (Night) and in white with red accents and a black, red and aqua sole (Day).
